Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine are used as preventative maintenance in China, as well as treatment in acute illness presentations. It works best when used in a series of treatments. It is important to note that acupuncture is not a quick fix. In many cases it can take time to relieve presenting symptoms, while other times shifts can occur quickly. Much depends on the nature of the health issue to be treated and weather it is chronic, internal or acute in presentation. In some cases regular maintenance is helpful and may be needed.

It is important to have good effective communication with your TCM Practitioner so together you can develop a treatment plan that works best for you.

Acupuncture is an excellent tool that helps our body activate it's natural ability to promote healing, recovery and wellness, and maintain balance through homeostasis. It encourages our nervous system to shift from the fight or flight stress response that occurs when we are in pain or distress, into our bodies rest, digest and healing response, that awakens our bodies ability to heal. It is safe and natural and when used regularly can decrease stress, increase immunity, regulate sleep and digestion and promote health and well being.
